GarageBand
A free service offered to musicians who are serious about their art. The site allows you to upload your music , write a bio, band info, sell your CD, communicate with other users, start a mailing list and more. The unique feature in GarageBand is the reviews and band rating for your band by other GB listeners and artists, and it is all based around a multi-round contest for a record deal.

SoundClick
Offers free personalized homepage, free mp3 upload and feedback, community, SoundClick genre charts and much more.

AmpCast
For a small fee, you can get a multilevel site with editable html, mp3 uploads and a global potential for global promotion.

Mp3Rock
A very professional-looking site with a great service for emerging artists. Fill out the five-page application and cross your fingers. This site is friends with a lot of other big names so don't pass this one up!

ArtistDirect
Most people overlook this website and pass it off as mainstream only. They not only offer some resources for indie bands, but an option to add your link to this high-traffic site. Definetly effective in getting your name out there.

IUMA
The Internet Underground Music Archive offers many of the features seen in similar sites and more. Another site that has its own charts and band standings so you can see where you're at in the game. IUMA.org also prides itself in an indie internet radio station that will play your songs in its rotation.

Indie-Connections

This website is based around its streaming radio of indie music but for a small fee you can not only add your music, but receive a band page with a picture, mp3 uploads, member listing, info, bio and sell your album.

Bands411
A great resource for bands to submit to. They have tons of genres and categories to choose from, give you space for up to ten tracks, let you update your page whenever you want with journals, tour info, show info, contact info, pictures, anything.

Vitaminic
This allows you to create a Vitaminic homepage, upload photos, text, gig details, personal newsletter, and distribute up to 25 tracks in streaming format. You'll also have full access to any statistics relating to your account. This basic subscription is free for all artists. but you can beef it up for a small price.

HotBands
A great, lesser-known, site that deserves a lot more credit. HotBands allows you to create you own artist homepage from scratch, upload pictures, logos, mp3's, tour info, band info, bios, etc.

CornerBand
A free music community with Cornerband charts, song upload, band pages, info and more. A unique quality to this site is its star rating for each song and band that is tallied by users when they hear your tracks. Your band can make the homepage headlines if your song is voted Song of the Day.

BandTime
This is a flash-based site that tends to run a bit slow and tends to take a while to get your band posted, as it is done by hand. However, the idea is great. People sit and listen to your band while staring at yor mug, and you can log in and see how long people listen to you for! Definetly worth the energy to sign up for this.

WeedFiles
A new kind of music file format that is trying to catch on. The site has been getting some press in the news and industry publications so it would be wise to have your name on there while they're still accepting indie artists. You can upload music and some info on here for free.

Mp3Lizard
Upload a few of your songs, a banner, a pic and some info all for free. The unique thing about this site is when you sign up, your band's tracks are listed right on the homepage until more new people bump you off. Great exposure.

MusicianMp3
This is a great site that seems to fall through the cracks and not get the attention it deserves. Regardless, it has a huge listing of artists and is always accepting more. MusicianMp3 is a very clean, organized site that lets you virtually create an entire page of info, interviews, pictures, songs, albums, anything you can think of.

IndieOneStop

This site has been around for a very long time and the truth is, people trust it. The design and layout are very basic and the band listings look more like a classified ad compared to sites like pureVOLUME. However, they offer industry contact listings, label info, and a trusted name by the industry.

IndieWave
Another great web site that offers a picture, bio, location, info, multiple mp3 uploads, etc. All for free. Very clean, well designed, popular site that would not hurt to be seen on.

MacIdol
We here at BandAttack are partial to this site because we are unhealthily obsessed with Apple Computers. This site is dedicated to bands that use Macs to create their art, whether it be rock, techno, instrumental, pop, whatever. They give you 50MB of space for your mp3's and a page dedicated to your band for free!

MusicGorilla
We try to veer away from listing sites that cost money to join but this site is one of the few exceptions. Get your band members together, all pitch in about five dollars and get this membership! This site is beginning to be one of the industry standards in music promotion and they offer something very few other services do, a gaurantee!

OnlineRock
Here is another good one that you can pay for if you want more features but you don't have to. You can upload some music and make your very own band page.

Mp3Raid

A decent site that is pretty popular in the mainstream music world. However, they do offer the opportunity for bands to submit their music for listing. So if you want to see your band on the ame website as 50cent and Sean Paul thensign up now for free.

SongCritic
This is the place to get opinions from real music lovers! It's the place where fans will download and listen to your songs (driving traffic to your site) and then post their "reviews" of your tunes. It costs five dollars but may be worth it. We've given this site, although great in service and design, a lower star rating because BandTime.tv does it for free.

UnsignedBandWeb
A site that offers free info pages and 15mb for song uploads. You also have the option to shell out some cash for more features and storage. Good site, worth the effort to sign up.

BeSonic
A popular website that actually allows you to register for free and add your band's info, music, etc. High traffic websites such as this one are crucial in promoting your indie music.

MySpace
One of the Internet's largest online communities that allows bands and groups to sign up for a free account and keep in touch with friends, fans, fellow musicians and more. Your page has space for pictures, logos, band info, tour info, comments, journal and many other useful features.

HxCMP3
A site specializing in the promotion of hardcore bands and music specifically. There are tons of sweet bands on there currently so to say the least, you would be in good company if you joined.

DropHit
This site's claim to fame is its incredible promotion packages; however when you sign up with them, you do receive a pretty decent page for your band with album info, bio, contact, etc.
